Frances Rankos

Frances came to the transit industry in 1979 from a vocational teaching background. She worked in customer services, outreach with seniors and promoting the vote to create Pierce Transit.

In 1987 when Pierce Transit purchased the first lift equipped buses, she was asked to demonstrate the new lifts for community groups, public schools, and teach passengers how to use the new accessible service. In 1992 she was hired as Pierce Transit’s first travel trainer and developed their Travel Training Program. Frances has been a charter member of the Association of Travel Instruction since 1999.
