My name is Dahir Ibrahim, I am the drug and alcohol compliance program manager for WSDOT. I provide oversight to rural subrecipients who receive 5311 funding from the State of Washington. Some examples of oversight includes in-person site visits and providing technical assistance. Previously, I was a drug and alcohol administrator/technician for king county metro.

This presentation will provide attendees with a brief update on 49 CFR Part 40 (Procedures for Transportation Workplace Drug and Alcohol Testing Programs) regarding oral fluid testing. We will go over the requirements of having oral fluid testing and the benefits. In addition, we will go over how to stay compliant with FTA with the addition of oral fluid testing.
