Please join Veronica Marti and Christina Loomis as they unveil the newly updated Travel Training Best Practices document. They will review the sections of the document and explain how this document will be a valuable tool for enacting travel training programs for transportation organizations of all sizes.

Travel Training Best Practices is a comprehensive living document that compiles best practices for transportation organizations formulating and providing travel training services. Developed by the Travel Training Best Practices Work Group, it serves as a framework to improve services that center on enhancing transportation options and independent mobility for individuals with disabilities and specialized needs. The document covers key components such as travel trainer qualifications, individualized service delivery, group trainings, volunteer programs, performance measures, marketing strategies, and useful resources. It aims to assist travel training providers in continuously improving their services through best practice guidelines informed by subject matter experts across the region. This living document represents an ongoing collaborative effort to uplift the travel training profession and its positive impact on communities.


Christina Loomis is a Travel Training Coordinator at Intercity Transit in Olympia, WA. Her experience in the public transportation sector, spans nearly two decades. She is passionate about delivering exceptional service to both clients and colleagues. Christina's expertise lies in travel training, supporting accessibility, communication, and interpersonal skills. She's also skilled in instructional design and maintains a strong customer service focus. Christina's mission is to embody a service-oriented approach towards all her interactions, including clients, colleagues, and within the community. She strives to make a meaningful, positive, and lasting impact on those around her.
